One man can be seen waving what appears to be a scarf in Poppy’s face as he walks past her.
Disgusted by the act, Poppy turns and appears to confront the man.
But the thug then reacts violently and instead brutally punches Poppy in the head, forcing her to reel backwards and fall in the middle of the road.
While the Brit woman was able to get up on her feet after the vile attack, she had her jaw fractured and her teeth broken – and had to get titanium plates installed.
Poppy told 7News: “The attack was disgusting … It was vile.
“I don’t understand how someone thinks that’s an okay reaction to have, especially to a young girl.
“I have had stitches from my left ear to my cheek to my mouth. I had to have a wisdom tooth taken out. I have two titanium plates [placed on my jaw].”
“I really hope he comes forward, or I really hope his friends push him to come forward. I think that’s just the morally right thing to do.”
It is understood the man who attacked Poppy eventually presented himself to Victoria police, but he has not been charged as of now.
A senior Aussie cop told Channel 9: “The footage is pretty horrific … its disgusting to see.
“Any person should be able to go out on a Saturday night and enjoy their time. Especially being a 19-year-old female in the company of just her friends
Poppy, who turned 20 on October 1, revealed she had to delay her planned trip to Australia’s east coast with friends because of the “vile” attack.
“I’ve had to put all of that on hold, and at the time, I didn’t know if it was going to cost me anything either,’ she said.
“[My parents] were really worried, and they were quite scared for me as well.”
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
It comes after an Aussie tourist died after smashing his head on the pavement from his Brit friend throwing a fatal punch.
The 58-year-old had been drinking beer with the Brit, 29, when they had a drunken row in front of their hotel in Pattaya, Thailand, before dawn.
The pair sparked panic as they came to blows in the street on September 27 as terrified locals watched.
The Brit reportedly threw a punch that caused the Aussie to smash his head on the pavement.
Medics were called to the scene at around 4.30am, where they found the Australian man on the ground with no pulse.
They performed CPR and rushed him to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital, but they said he could not be revived.
