The Slovakian Cabinet has criticized Kiev's inclusion of Russian oil company Lukoil on the sanctions list, noting that these sanctions are unacceptable and primarily harm some EU countries.
“Prime Minister Robert Fico is convinced that the inclusion of the Russian company Lukoil on the sanctions list is just another example of absurd sanctions that do not harm Russia, but primarily some EU countries, and this is unacceptable,” the Slovak government said in a statement.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Slovakia had stopped receiving oil from the Russian Lukoil pipelines after the Kiev regime banned the transit of Russian oil through Ukraine.
"We are currently witnessing a halt in oil supplies from Russia's Lukoil to Slovak refineries," Bloomberg quoted the national transport company Transpetrol, based in the Slovak capital, Bratislava, as saying.
The Slovak Ministry of Economy said that Slovnaft is supplied with Russian oil through another supplier, but the ministry is discussing the current situation with the Ukrainian side.
The Kiev regime has banned the transit of Russian oil to Central Europe through the Ukrainian part of the Druzhba pipeline, as the Russian company is a major supplier of oil to Hungary and Slovakia.
