South Korea, US to start defence cost talks early, before US elections-media

South Korea and the United States will start early talks on cost sharing to extend the Special Measures Agreement beyond 2025. The deal, which funds US forces in South Korea, saw a 13.9% increase in South Korea's contribution. Talks will begin this year to negotiate the extension of the agreement to 2026 and beyond.
