As Kamala Harris and Donald Trump launch a final frenzied campaign blitz, and Americans brace for election unrest, FRANCE 24's Nadia Massih welcomes the President and Publisher of Harper's Magazine John R. MacArthur. Trump's "self-defeating" campaign is, "laden with irony"', observes MacArthur: 'He's a crook, a convicted criminal' promising to make the "crooked straight", offering no specifics other than "expecting to be robbed" on election day. Yet Mr. MacArthur doesn't see a strong adversary on the other side of the political aisle: "Kamala Harris is not an effective counter-puncher: She only talks about standing for the future, turning the page, ending division, but she doesn't say how she's going to end division." Adding to the Vice President's electability challenges, the Democrats have yet to address a "deep deep resentment in the working class" dating back to the Clinton years.
