THE Taliban has issued a major update on a British couple who were arrested in Afghanistan earlier this month.
Peter Reynolds, 79, and his wife Barbie, 75, were arrested on 1 February on their way back home to the Bamiyan province.
The tyrannical group has today said it will aim to release the Brits “as soon as possible”.
In a statement, Taliban official Abdul Mateen Qani said: “A series of considerations is being taken into account, and after evaluation, we will endeavour to release them as soon as possible.”
The pair were reportedly arrested for teaching parenting skills to mothers.
An Afghan and an American national were also arrested at the same time as the British couple.
Peter and Barbie Reynolds ran training schools in Afghanistan for 18 years, despite the rise of the tyrannical group in 2021.
