The Nation reported on July 26 that the number of patients with lung disease in the Thai-Myanmar border town of Mae Sot is increasing day by day.
In Shwekokko town in the border area of Myawati District, it was found that about half of the hundred patients who underwent X-ray examination recently had lung disease.
The director of Mae Sot Hospital urged Thai immigration and health officials to be aware of the possible spread of lung disease in Myanmar.
He advised that employees who come into contact with people from Myanmar should also wear masks.
He also estimated that there may be more cases of lung disease in Myanmar than last year. He also said that there should be no panic as these infections occur every year.
