Google said on its official website: "The latest update to the Google Translate service is the largest ever and represents a huge leap. The service application provided users with 133 languages, and with the update, 110 additional languages will be added."
Google indicated that it was able to support its service with new languages using Google PaLM 2 software that relies on artificial intelligence, which can work very well with languages that are close to each other, such as some languages used in India or the Cyrillic languages used in Mauritius and Seychelles, for example.
The list of new languages that the service will support includes Cantonese, a language that many Google Translate users have been asking for for a long time, and it was not easy to add it due to the difficulty of training artificial intelligence software on its terms. Several languages used in Africa and spoken by millions of people have also been added to the service.
