The contributions of Uyghurs to the Silk Road in history were presented at the symposium held in Istanbul

The "Timeless Heritage Silk Road" exhibition and seminar was held in Istanbul with the cooperation of Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Konya City Council, Istanbul Business University, Human Culture Movement and other institutions and organizations.

In this symposium aimed at revitalizing and revitalizing the Silk Road, researchers spoke and presented the historical contributions of the Uyghurs to the culture of the Silk Road and the Turkic world.

The symposium, which presented the "Silk Road Promotion and Revitalization Action Plan", lasted for three days from May 31 to June 2, and invited countries and regions such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, and Turkey. The 60 participating researchers presented research papers on the history of the Silk Road and its contribution to human history in terms of culture, economy, politics and literature.

On behalf of Uyghurs, the president of Uyghur Academy Foundation and teacher of Beykent University, Dr. Faradat Kamal, professor of Ankara Haji Bayram Vali University, professor Warid Chakan, and professor of İstanbul Gelasim University, Dr. Hadiche Wali attended the meeting.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the meeting, Turkish Parliament Speaker Prof. Numan Kurtulmus stressed that the Silk Road project is a very significant project for the Turkish world. He expressed the potential of the Silk Road Revitalization Plan to become a major international project involving China and other Asian countries, and said, "Especially China's ``One Road One Belt Project'' and the ``Silk Road Revitalization Plan'' including the Turkish world It is obvious that it is a way to complement each other. Such an important project will greatly contribute to the development of world business, as well as a means to strengthen the political and cultural cooperation of the countries that connect this road.

Uygur Ibrahim Altai, Mayor of Turkish World Cities and Konya, said that the Silk Road, which connects languages, cultures, and religions, is not only an economic aspect, but also a heritage of humanity that has developed in many different aspects.

He emphasized that the Silk Road, which passed through the areas where the Turks lived historically, played a very important role in the migration of the Turkish people from Central Asia to the West.

At the conference, "Turkish World and Silk Road from Past to Present", "Important Sectors of Trade and Silk Road", "Silk Road Cities and Our Cultural Centers", "Historical Heritage of Turkish Literature and Thought on Silk Road", "Silk Road and Architecture at the Meeting of Arts" Researchers presented their academic articles on the basic topics of art tradition, "future of the Turkish world, regional economy and cooperation".

Prof. Ahmet Tashaghil, who spoke at the meeting, spoke on the topic of "Historical Foundations of the Silk Road", and Prof. Warit Chakan, a teacher at Ankara Haji Bairam Vali University, spoke on the topic of "The role of Uyghurs and the role of East Turkistan in the history and today of the Silk Road".

In his speech, he emphasized that the Uyghurs are the people who built the urban culture in history, contributed to the Silk Road and the world culture with their wells and construction and architecture, and with scientists such as Yusuf Khas Hajib and Mahmud Kashgiri.

Prof. Dr. Ilyas Kemal Oglu, who expressed his opinion at the meeting, said, "It is unfortunate that today there is a big problem in East Turkistan, there is a policy of pressure and monopolization, and these actions are being carried out in front of the eyes of the world today."

Also at the conference, Dr. Farat Kamal, teacher of Beykent University and president of the Uyghur Academy Foundation, spoke on the topic of "Uighurs' contributions to Turkish culture and printing", Dr. Hadiche Wali, "Silk weaving on the silk road and silk weaving among Kuchu Uyghurs", Istanbul University's Turkish World Research Institute Teacher Dr. Umar Kul spoke on the topics of "Effects of the New Silk Road on the Economy of the Turkic World", and Prof. Dr. Umar Sonar Honkan spoke on the topics of "Turkish Empire and Karakhanid Money on the Silk Road".

Scientific papers presented by academic researchers at the symposium are collected and published in book form before the conference and distributed free of charge to the conference participants.
