The Egyptian Fatwa House announced today, Sunday, the date of observing the crescent of the month of Ramadan.
The Fatwa wrote on its official page on the social networking site “Facebook”: “We are looking for the crescent of the month of Ramadan next Sunday, God willing.”
The sighting occurs after sunset on the 29th of the month of Shaban, and as soon as it is sighted, this means that the month of Ramadan has begun. If the sighting falters and the crescent does not appear, the month of Shaban must be completed until the 30th.
It should be noted that the month of Ramadan is approximately 10 to 14 days earlier each new year than the previous year, according to the Gregorian calendar for the year.
