The EU buys too much defence equipment from abroad, report says

The European Union is failing to invest enough money in joint military projects and buying too much of its defense equipment from the US and other countries, a report by economist and former Italian prime minister Mario Draghi has said. Almost two thirds of the EU's defense orders between mid-2022 and mid-2023 were placed with US companies, the report said, with another 15 percent going to other non-EU suppliers.
