Berlin: About 7,500 people, according to police estimates, took to the streets of the German capital , Berlin, on Saturday, in a demonstration called “The Global South Resists.”
A police spokeswoman said that pro-Palestinian demonstrators were among the participants.
The protest organizers' website stated a call for freedom and justice in the lands from Palestine to the Congo, as well as Sudan, Syria, Yemen and others.
They stated that they wanted to “end colonialism, racism, and white supremacy.”
The police spokeswoman said that during the demonstrations, chants such as “Stop genocide” and “Germany funds, and Israel bombs” were chanted.
No major incidents were recorded at the event, in which 400 police personnel were deployed.
