The Israeli army announces the destruction of underground tracks and missile manufacturing sites in the central Gaza Strip

The Israeli army announced on Thursday that it had found underground tracks and sites for making rockets and destroyed them, stressing the “expansion of operational control over the central corridor of the Gaza Strip” separating its north from its south.

The Israeli army explained in a statement that “underground paths and sites for manufacturing rockets were found and destroyed, and the area of ​​operational control over the central Gaza Strip corridor was expanded, with documentation from the precise campaign launched by the 162nd Division in the central Gaza Strip.”

He added: "Over the past week, fighters of the 401st Brigade's combat group, along with Yahalom forces, destroyed more than 100 military infrastructure and eliminated more than 40 militants in face-to-face battles and through raids launched by air forces, among the infrastructure that was destroyed." Several military targets in the Gaza Strip, including a site used to manufacture rockets and weapons belonging to the Hamas organization, and a site used to manufacture long-range rockets belonging to the Islamic Jihad organization.

The Israeli army indicated that it "raid an underground combat complex located under the Gaza Valley and aims to prevent forces from crossing the valley. Many Hamas militants' means of combat were found in the combat complex."

He also confirmed that "during the campaign, 17 tunnel openings were destroyed, including an attack tunnel opening, and the forces found several platforms and holes for launching rocket shells. The forces of the 215th Brigade, warplanes, and air force units attacked dozens of targets, while artillery units attacked infrastructure in the center of the sector." .

The Israeli army also stated: “At the same time, the Nahal Brigade’s combat group has been carrying out operational activities in the area of ​​the central corridor of the Gaza Strip over the past three months, as the corridor forms an area separating the northern Gaza Strip from its south, from which the forces carried out precise raid operations, and during the campaign The brigade that was established this week, after receiving prior intelligence information, forces eliminated militants using precision missiles and found many combat means, tunnel openings, and destroyed an underground path in the area.. So far, dozens of precise raids have been carried out, and what has been destroyed has been eliminated. "More than 1,000 armed men were in this area, and more than 20 kilometers of underground tracks in the vicinity of the corridor were destroyed."

Palestine called on the UN Security Council to intervene immediately and force Israel to stop its operation in Gaza and withdraw from the Strip, which is witnessing tragic conditions with a rise in the death toll .

Since the seventh of last October, the Israeli army has continued its bombing of various areas of the Gaza Strip , about 85% of whose population has been displaced, according to the Gaza authorities and international bodies and organizations.
