The largest leftist organization in the United States announces its support for the campaign by Arabs in Michigan to “Boycott Biden” in protest against the Gaza war

Washington - The Democratic Socialists of America (DCA), which is considered the largest left-wing political group in the United States, on Sunday supported the push for non-conformist voting   in the Super Tuesday primaries.

The “uncommitted” votes are intended as a protest against US President Joe Biden’s response to his support for Israel’s bloody war on Gaza. Votes express support for a party, but not for any candidate on the ballot.

The endorsement comes after just over 100,000 voters in Michigan backed the “non-committed ” line in the state’s primary as Biden faces mounting pressure from Democrats to support a permanent ceasefire in the conflict.

“Until this administration ends its support of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and achieves a permanent ceasefire, Joe Biden will bear the responsibility of another Trump presidency,” DSA wrote in a statement on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday.

“Biden is on track to lose the election to Trump unless he chooses to listen to the working class of this country and change course,” the group said, citing “uncommitted” campaign turnout in Michigan. “Defeat is certain if he fails to do so.”

Led by Arab American community leaders and progressive activists, and supported by prominent politicians including Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.), the “Uncommitted” movement has mobilized tens of thousands of Democrats in the state who disagree with Biden’s response to Israel’s barbaric war on Gaza.

Biden has increased pressure on Israel in recent weeks amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions and encouraged a six-week ceasefire, but rejected demonstrators' calls to support a permanent ceasefire.

She continued: “This week’s brutal ‘flour massacre’ has proven once again that Israel is a brutal and inhumane apartheid state carrying the legacy of 75 years of genocide and occupation,” referring to the martyrdom of more than 100 civilians in Gaza this week.

She said: “More than 30,000 Palestinians have died so far; How many will be enough for Joe Biden to stop this war?

The group also shared resources for “uncommitted” efforts in Washington, Minnesota and Colorado, all of which will go to the ballot in the coming weeks.

US Vice President Kamala Harris said on Sunday that Israel had “no excuses” to stop the “humanitarian catastrophe” in Gaza, one of the US administration’s harshest rebukes of the Israeli government.

President Biden announced on Friday that the United States will airdrop humanitarian aid to Gaza as negotiations continue on a temporary ceasefire in the war.
