Supreme Court: Center said, there can be no recognition of the status of refugees outside the legislative framework.
New Delhi:An affidavit has been filed by the Center in the Supreme Court on Rohingya refugees. In this affidavit, the Center has said that foreigners cannot be completely accepted as refugees in India. In its affidavit, the Center said, "As a developing country with the world's largest population and limited resources, it is important for the country to give priority to its citizens. There can be no recognition of the status of refugees outside the legislative framework and refugees "Such a declaration of status cannot be made even through a judicial order".
The Center said, "Most of the foreigners have entered India illegally. The fundamental rights under the Constitution are available only to the citizens of the country. Therefore, the petitioners cannot demand the creation of a new work of citizens. "Decisions of this magnitude are within the exclusive jurisdiction of the legislature and cannot be permitted through judicial orders."

The affidavit states that "being illegal migrants, the Rohingyas cannot claim protection under Part III of the Constitution because Part III protects only the citizens of the country and not the illegal immigrants.
