Trump defender Batya Ungar-Sargon asked on Bill Maher's show if the country is better off now than it was 4 years ago. Donald Trump left office in disgrace with the worst jobs numbers since Herbert Hoover, so yeah, we're better off. However, she insisted that 4 years ago, it was in 2018. That's 6 years, ma'am. Still, she kept framing the question that way.
"Ask the American people: Inflation, immigration crisis, eight million people who cross here illegally," she said. "Crimes are being committed. People can't afford homes because of the high mortgage rates."
The Federal Reserve controls short-term interest rates, but she knows that. It's unfair to blame Biden for global inflation, but I'm sure she's aware of that, too. As Maher pointed out, crimes have always been committed.
Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan mocked Unga-Sargon, saying, "If you built the wall, maybe these people wouldn't be coming illegally."
Speaking of Lumpy's wall, here's Trump lying his ass off.
