Sen. Jerry Moran (R-KS) questioned Tulsi Gabbard, Donald Trump's appointee to the Director of National Intelligence, about her opinions on Russia. She told him she was "offended" by his questions.
"I want to make certain that in no way does Russia get a pass in your mind or your heart or in any policy recommendation you would make or not make," Moran said during the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday.
"I am offended by the question because my sole focus and responsibility is about our own nation, our own security come in the interest of the American people," said Gabbard. She promised Moran that no country would "get a pass" and she would provide all of the intelligence information to lawmakers, even regarding her personal relationships.

Sen. Martin Heinrich (D-N.M.) asked Gabbard about her trip to Syria in 2017, in which she met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Gabbard said that she briefed then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and then-Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD).
"Quite frankly, I was surprised there was no one from the intelligence community or the State Department who showed any interest whatsoever in my takeaways from that trip," Gabbard said. "I would've been very happy to have a conversation and give them a back brief."
The Trump administration was in charge at the time.
