Turkey bans Instagram without explanation

Turkey blocked Instagram without explanation following accusations of censorship by Turkish communications official Fahrettin Altun. Altun claimed Instagram impeded condolence posts for Hamas official Ismail Haniyeh, killed in Tehran. The Turkish Information Technologies and Communication Authority announced the block, affecting over 50 million Turkish Instagram users. Meta Platforms has not commented on the issue.
