Ukraine says 'about 20,000' people must be evacuated from border areas near Russia's Kursk

Ukrainian police said on Friday that "about 20,000" people need to be evacuated from areas across the border from Russia's Kursk region – a sharp increase from a previous estimate of 6,000. The statement comes four days after Ukrainian forces broke across the border into Kursk, advancing  to 10 kilometres into Kursk according to the US-based Institute for the Study of War.
