Ukraine wants bilateral relations between Indonesia and Ukraine to develop peacefully

Jakarta - Ukrainian Ambassador to Indonesia Vasyl Hamianin expressed hope that bilateral relations with Indonesia can develop in peace, mutual understanding and mutual benefit for the people of both countries.

"That is my greatest hope," said Ambassador Vasyl after a farewell event for the end of his term of office held by the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI) in Jakarta, Friday.

He hopes that relations between the two countries can continue to develop amidst peace and prosperity among the people of both countries.

Unfortunately, this can only be realized if Ukraine wins the war against the aggressor, or invader, and restores peace and borders fairly as in 1991, Vasyl said, referring to the referendum for the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine on December 1, 1991.

For this reason, Vasyl hopes that Indonesia can use its influence to support the achievement of peace in Ukraine.

"I want Indonesia to rise and stand, and convey its very strong and influential words to the world, which supports peace and sovereignty of independent countries, including Ukraine, which supports justice and prevents the development of the new imperialism of the Russian Federation into something very dangerous in the world," he said.

Therefore, he also hopes that the Indonesian people and the Indonesian government can do something that can truly end Russian colonialism and help Ukraine regain its independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty.

Meanwhile, when asked about his expectations for US assistance, the Ukrainian Ambassador also hoped that the United States would continue to help democratic countries in need, including Ukraine, which is suffering from Russian aggression.

Ambassador Vasyl expressed this hope amid the US decision to evaluate the potential for providing foreign aid.

In this regard, Vasyl believes that the US military aid program to Ukraine will be continued.
