US presses China to rein in Iran for backing Yemen’s Houthis: Report

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan has pressed Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to persuade Tehran to cease its support for Yemen's Houthis attacking commercial ships in the Red Sea in support of Gaza, Reuters reported, citing a senior White House official. Iran says Yemen is an “independent country” that acts “based on its assessment".
