US, UK refuse to sign Paris Summit declaration on Inclusive AI

Jakarta - The US and UK have refused to sign a declaration on "inclusive and sustainable" artificial intelligence (AI) at a key summit in Paris, France.

Quoted from The Guardian, Tuesday (11/2) local time, this is a blow to hopes for a joint approach in the development and regulation of this technology.

The communique stated that its priorities include “ensuring AI is open, inclusive, transparent, ethical, safe, secure and trustworthy, taking into account international frameworks for all” and “making AI sustainable for people and planet”.

The document was endorsed by 60 other signatories on Tuesday (11/2), including France, China, India, Japan, Australia and Canada.
