THIS is the spectacular moment two loyal dogs team up to ward off a frightening intruder.

CCTV footage from Gujarat, India shows a lion run up to a home’s gate and attack a small guard dog late in a fierce late night battle.

The big cat starts to ferociously paw the cute canine from behind the gate’s bars while another pup approaches to help defend its friend.

The comparatively tiny dogs yap fiercely in a bid to intimidate the beast almost four times their size in the Indian village Thoradi.

The iron gate opens slightly as the predator rams it open and another lion emerges to try and force entry into the residence.

But the lions give up and walk off into nearby bushes after feeling threatened by the two pups, as shown in the footage from Stuff NZ.

One of the black dogs bravely ventures outside to scan its surroundings for safety and it appears both lions have indeed fled.

An old man then comes out with a torch to confirm that the predators had left the site.

This comes after hair-raising footage in the US showed a dog in an Oklahoma living room gnawing on a lithium-ion power bank.

The white dog feasted on what it thought was a sweet treat while perched upon a mattress, in a clip released by the Tulsa Fire Department.

But sparks of fire suddenly flew upwards and billowing smoke encased the sofa and mattress as the charger exploded into flames.

This prompted the canines to dart across the room to find safety behind the grey sofa.

Rescuers then took the traumatised pups to safety while they inspect the damage to the home.

Two fire trucks appeared to be deployed to tackle the blaze.

Tulsa Fire Department confirmed that the house suffered extensive damage but both pups came out injury-free and cited the battery as the culprit.

They said: “Be careful – you may have items in your home that can lead to a disaster if not properly handled!

“We responded to a house fire in May that was caused by a damaged lithium-ion battery.

“While the home was significantly damaged, their two dogs and cat escaped the home uninjured through a dog door.

“Fire departments all over the country are seeing fires related to these batteries and we want the public to learn about usage, safe storage and proper disposal of these potentially dangerous batteries.”
