THIS is the shocking a moment a mum jumps into her teen daughter’s bus-stop brawl before she’s smacked with a Stanley cup.
Footage shows both teens discard bags from their backs as they square up to tussle in Flagler County, Florida.
For a moment they stare one another down amid a war of words.
But words soon turn to fists, with the brawl erupting after one girl pushes the other.
They swing wildly at one another before hotpants-wearing mum Kathryn Stephanopoulos, 34, storms into the scene.
She grapples with the teen opponent, wrapping her up in a hold while her daughter takes the opportunity to strike her nemesis with blows from above.
Another person jumps in to intervene, but can’t seem to pull the mum off.
That person, who initially appeared to attempt to break up the fight, ends up scuffling with the daughter as the brawl becomes two separate duels.
More people soon rush into the scene, splitting up the melee.
A voice shouts from the bus: “Your mum is going to prison.”
They continue to bark at one another as they retreat.
Cops said one of the teens smacked Stephanopoulos with a Stanley cup.
Stephanopoulos was arrested and slapped with charges of aggravated child abuse.
Cops said her daughter had agreed to fight another student as soon as they left the bus in a planned brawl.
Authorities say the teen’s breathing was restricted while Stephanopoulos had her wrapped up, with the bus stop looking more like a UFC octagon.
One of the teens was arrested for aggravated battery, and the other faces misdemeanour charges.
Sheriff Rick Staly said the mum certainly wasn’t in line for a “mother of the year” award.
He said: “Instead of deescalating the situation, we have a mother who joined in the fray, setting a bad example for her child and those at the bus stop.
“She certainly won’t receive mother of the year with her actions. Parents need to set the example and not be part of the problem.
“Luckily, no one was seriously injured, but now a mother is facing serious charges for losing control of her temper.”
Cops kept Stephanopoulos at the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility.
She was released after paying a $1,000 bond.
According to Fox 35, an arrest affidavit said: ‘It should be noted that Kathryn expressed her regret and embarrassment about the entire incident.”
