The winning numbers that day were 25, 12, 6, 20, 26, 16 and 7[/caption]

The woman bought the ticket online, telling The Lott she accidentally purchased it as a double-up.

But little did she know she and her husband held the only division one winning entry in Powerball draw 1447, scooping a whopping $5million.

“It was almost an accidental purchase,” she told 9News.

“My husband normally buys our entries, but he was having a few issues, so I said, ‘Oh, I’ll just jump on and do it’

“He figured it out and bought an entry, but by that stage, so had I. Oh my god, our mortgage is gone.”

She said the life-changing win would mean the couple would start looking at overseas holidays.

“We’ve got so many options,” she said.

The winning numbers were 25, 12, 6, 20, 26, 16 and 7.

The all-important Powerball number was 2.

It comes after a Victorian woman became $60million richer after winning the Powerball – but it was some time before she realised.

The Lott struggled to get a hold of the lucky Aussie because she wouldn’t answer her phone.

The woman, a recent retiree from Daylesford, revealed her husband answered a call from the lottery office but hung up while “in a frenzy”.

It was not until she checked her ticket online that she learned she had won Australia‘s second biggest jackpot of the year.

She later told lottery officials: “I’m in a bit of shock at the moment. Oh my god! I can’t believe this is happening.

“My husband is walking around dumbfounded.”

he winner, who based her numbers on the birthdays of close friends and family, said she had no intention of keeping all of the money to herself.

She explained: “I think a lot of charities might benefit, especially those that help disadvantaged children.

“This prize will help a lot of people out.

“It’s my main goal.”

Meanwhile, a lottery winner who scooped a whopping £300 million jackpot said he wished he had torn up the ticket.

Instead of getting good luck and fortune, Andrew ‘Jack’ Whittaker’s life was cursed with family deaths, divorce, and gambling addiction.

His Powerball win was the largest jackpot ever won by a single winning ticket in the history of US lottery.

But luck did not seem to be on his side anymore.

The millionaire bought himself a Lamborghini in which he’d drive around his neighbourhood throwing money out of the window.

But less than a year after winning the lottery, thieves broke into his flashy car and stole £545,000 cash that Jack carried around in a suitcase.

The Lamborghini was then broken into for a second time, resulting in the loss of a further £200,000 cash, but this was later recovered.

Jack’s downfall took an even darker turn when he lost his 17-year-old granddaughter Brandi Bragg on December 20, 2004.
