With 6 military aircraft Morocco participates in landing humanitarian aid on the Gaza Strip

Local Moroccan media said that Rabat joined the countries participating in carrying out airdrops of humanitarian aid over the Gaza Strip.

Yesterday (Monday), Morocco carried out an airdrop of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, via 6 military aircraft.

The Moroccan website Hespress (independent) said, “Today (Monday), Rabat, in coordination with the Israeli government, sent six military helicopters belonging to the Royal Armed Forces loaded with relief aid directed to Gaza.”

The website added, quoting a source in the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that “Rabat informed Tel Aviv of its intention to send humanitarian aid planes to the northern Gaza Strip, which was dealt with positively.”

Morocco joined 6 Arab countries that have been carrying out joint operations to drop food aid on the Gaza Strip for more than a week, namely Egypt, the Emirates, Jordan, Qatar, the Sultanate of Oman, and Bahrain.

In December 2022, Morocco and Israel resumed their diplomatic relationship with American mediation, in a move that popular sectors and political forces in the Kingdom expressed their rejection of. This was followed by visits by high-level Israeli officials to Rabat, which stopped with the start of the war on Gaza.

As a result of the war and Israeli restrictions, the residents of Gaza, especially the Gaza and North governorates, face the risk of famine, in light of the severe scarcity of food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies, with the displacement of about two million Palestinians from the Strip.
