Beloved boss Stephan is the co-founder of CipSoft in Regensburg, Germany, and is a proud advocate of giving back to his staff at any opportunity.

The latest reward saw anyone who has been with the company for over two-and-a-half years get the extensive wage packet.

For most of the staff the mouthwatering £37,000 is the equivalent of 85 per cent of their annual salary meaning some will have pocketed way over £65,000 for the year.

While many think there must be some sort of catch to such a lucrative gift, Stephan says it is a simple idea where the more money he makes, the more money his employees make.

He explained to Bild: “Cipsoft passes on a quarter of the annual profit to its employees in the form of a bonus.

“Everyone who has been employed at Cipsoft for more than 2.5 years receives the full bonus.”

Annual CipSoft profits soared last year with the company making well over £12.3million.

The 22 per cent jump from the previous years gains meant Stephan and the fellow hierarchy had an abundance of cash spare to share around.

As one of the biggest games developers in Germany, CipSoft employees over 100 members of staff, according to their latest press release.

The budding company was officially founded in 2001 but the four original founders including Stephan, Guido Lubke, Stephan Payerbeen and Ulrich Schlott made their first major game in 1997.

Tibia, a historic online role-playing game, was released by the quartet almost three decades ago and has become a best-selling worldwide hit.

The video game boasts 500,000 players across 77 different game worlds but the free to play mobile counterpart has amassed 10 million players globally.

Stephan said: “With Tibia we are fortunate to be running a live service game that has a very loyal community behind it, but in which we have also invested in the right places over the past few years.”

Tibia has kept it’s appeal and loyal fan base in part to the retro feel of the action-packed game as the game is still played under a two-dimensional layout.

Many other gaming companies in the industry have suffered recently following a mammoth boom during the Covid-19 pandemics.

CipSoft’s management team said despite their remarkable profits the dwindling industry as a whole has made it difficult to celebrate.

Another top boss is Gary Chin who has become known for his status as Britain’s best boss.

Earlier this year, he gifted all 42 of his Sumo Pan Asian restaurant employees a free trip to Barcelona.

Gary has made the annual trip a tradition for staff over the last 10 years with him closing the restaurants down each time so they can all celebrate together.

Another generous businessman spent more than £40k to take his office on a number of luxury holidays.

Mark Neilson, 35, says he would rather splash the cash to reward hard work than see it collecting interest in his bank account.

Meanwhile, another generous boss gifted his entire company to a £100,000 vacation to say thanks to his staff for their tireless work over the pandemic.

Plus, ‘the UK’s best boss’ ever, who surprised his staff with a £7k trip to Ibiza, covering all costs.

Start-up founder Ashley Jones even threw in tickets to see Calvin Harris.
