The £16million masterpiece mansion is built on a giant cantilever slab on the top of the tower in the swanky retail and office space UB City.
Vijay Mallya, the son of United Breweries Group founder Vittal Mallay, fled India in March 2016 after he allegedly failed to pay back loans and investigating were hot on his heels.
He reportedly owed Indian banks more than £670,000.
Mallya, 68, has been denied the charges and has been fighting to stay in the UK while India attempts to get him extradited.
The flashy pad was meant to have a range of luxurious amenities including a wine cellar, both an indoor and outdoor pool and a helipad.
But since the announcement of the construction in 2010 it’s unclear if the house ever received the features.
The 34-storey building the mansion sits atop has 81 residencies across three blocks.
It was developed as an extension of UB City – a flashy business district that boasts high end commercial and service apartment space.
In the summer of 2022 Mallya received a four-month jail term for contempt of court.
The tycoon, whose empire included a Formula One motor racing team, an Indian Premier League cricket franchise, breweries, distilleries, and an airline, received a fine of about £21 for transferring £31million to his children, breaking court orders.
Mallya fled to the UK over allegations that he siphoned millions from $1.4 billion in loans to Kingfisher Airlines to purchase properties and fund his flashy lifestyle, rather than using it to bolster the airline.
He was granted conditional bail after his arrest in March 2017.
In 2020 his hopes to avoid extradition were slashed when his final appeal in the High Court was dismissed although he has remained in the UK since then.
Who is Vijay Mallya?
Vijay Mallya is an Indian businessman with a net worth of roughly £590million.
He is 68 years old and has four children.
Mallaya reportedly owes 17 Indian banks an estimated Rs 9,000 crore (more than £670,000)
He is a member of the Indian parliament and the ex-chairman of United Spirits, an Indian alcoholic beverages company.
In March 2016 lenders and investigating agencies came after him, after he allegedly borrowed huge sums of money and never returned any of it.
Mallya has been fighting against the charges ever since, and India has been attempting to get him extradited from the UK.
He has denied all allegations and publicly offered to repay the full principal amount he owes the lenders.
