Worldcoin Verified World IDs of 9,500 Argentinians In One Day
In a blog post published earlier today, Worldcoin described Argentina as one of the world’s leading countries for innovation and crypto adoption and added that August had been a rather successful month. The project crossed a major milestone after it verified the World ID of 9,500 Argentinians in one day, setting a new single-day record for Orb verifications.

World ID uses a proof of personhood (PoP) credential that is issued by the Orb, which is a biometric scanning device that scans the retina of new users.
Alex Blania, the co-founder of Worldcoin and the chief executive of its parent firm Tools for Humanity, took part in the Ethereum Argentina Mainnet Stage earlier this month. When asked about his firm’s success in the country, Blania stated that the people in Argentina were more understanding of the fundamental principles of crypto. He added that Argentina was overall one of the most crypto-forward countries in the world.
It’s a combination of having a very technologically advanced country in general and then also a crypto-forward country specifically, which makes it an explosive building ground for the next wave of innovation in this space.”
Alex Blania, Co-founder of WorldcoinWorldcoin’s Orbs are currently available in four cities in Argentina, namely Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Cordoba, and Mendoza. The project has gained traction in the country, despite an ongoing investigation by The Agency for Access to Public Information (AAIP) into its handling of sensitive data.
