The owner of the "X" social platform, Elon Musk, mocked the sudden malfunction that struck the "Facebook", "Messenger" and "Instagram" platforms of the "Meta" company worldwide.
Musk wrote on his account on the “X” platform: “If you are reading this post, it is because our servers are working.”
Hundreds of users around the world reported this evening, Tuesday, about a defect they encountered while using the “Facebook” website, and later users spoke of a similar defect on “Instagram.”
The problems resulting from the malfunction appeared at approximately 10:20 a.m. Eastern time in the United States, and affected social networking applications on smartphones and websites.
DownDetector, which monitors internet outages, showed that more than 200,000 Americans are facing problems with Facebook, and more than 30,000 reported similar problems with Instagram.
Users indicated that many accounts registered an automatic logout process, and they were unable to log in again despite entering the password. This disruption in social platforms is not the first of its kind, as millions of people have reported problems using Facebook over the past years.
