Lumia Announces Launch of Layer 2 Network to Boost RWAs Accessibility

In an effort to improve user experience and streamline onboarding, Web3 wallet XDEFI has announced a rebranding to become Ctrl, a new non-custodial wallet. Millions of users will find it simpler to access web3 and start their on-chain journey with Ctrl.

With this launch, XDEFI will introduce its next-generation Ctrl wallet and rebrand itself as Ctrl, which is pronounced Control. Over 90% of cryptocurrency users are not on-chain as of right now. With the goal of revolutionizing the user experience provided by non-custodial wallets, Ctrl gives cryptocurrency holders the ability to explore DeFi and web3 opportunities.

XDEFI CEO Emile Dubié said:

“I believe self-custody is a fundamental right, and as a wallet provider, our responsibility is to make it accessible and secure for everyone. People should be able to have full sovereignty over their financial assets without the hurdles associated with traditional crypto wallets.

As of today, we are the wallet with the most chain coverage. We have spent more than a year building a user experience on top of this technical advantage to make our products as intuitive as apps like Revolut. Ctrl is set to be the premier tool for onboarding millions of new users, regardless of their knowledge about crypto.”

To get around current web3 pain issues, the Ctrl wallet leverages web2 features. Ctrl offers a smooth onboarding process and an improved user experience by abstracting the need to pay for gas on every chain. Additionally, with 1,800 networks integrated into the Ctrl wallet, it provides compatibility for more blockchains than any other web3 wallet.

By enabling secure authentication via Google or social media, Ctrl’s social login eliminates the need to save seed phrases. Users will find it simpler to engage securely on-chain and benefit from economic opportunities across thousands of blockchains using Ctrl. Additionally, it will make managing multiple wallets easier and do away with the need for gas tokens.

August will see the beta release of the Ctrl wallet, giving early users a chance to test out its robust features. On Ctrl.xyz, the public may register to be included to the mobile beta waiting list. When it releases, both new users who installed XDEFI and current users of the XDEFI wallet will have their wallet immediately updated to Ctrl. The $XDEFI token will eventually be converted 1:1 for $CTRL.

The design of non-custodial wallets has hardly changed since 2015. Ctrl is a huge advancement in the usability of web3 wallets. Users will be able to easily manage their digital assets and use DeFi and web3 services on multiple chains thanks to this. As a consequence, current users will get a universal wallet for managing all of their on-chain operations, and millions more users will be granted a pathway to enter web3.
