“I’m as shocked as you lot are, hand on my heart, I’m as shocked as you lot are.
“I found out the same time as you lot, probably later.”
The pair collaborated together on projects for Footasylum, one of several major brands to drop Filly as a client since news of his arrest broke.
Known best for his videos on FIFA gaming, Aarons added: “I’m just going to play FIFA man, let’s just chill.”
Filly, whose real name is Andrés Felipe Valencia Barrientos, was arrested in Melbourne on suspicion of raping a woman at his hotel.
He had been performing at a nightclub before allegedly assaulting the woman, in her 20s.
Filly, 29, was moved to Perth after the arrest, where he now has to report to a police station daily after stumping up $100,000 AUD (£51,000) for bail.
On Tuesday he appeared at the WA station only 20 minutes before his mandatory deadline, The Western Australian reports.
The embattled rapper faces four counts of sexual penetration without consent, three counts of assault and one count of impeding a person’s normal breathing or circulation by applying pressure to their neck.
Police investigating him say they have an “extremely strong” case that includes CCTV footage of the social media star on the night of the alleged offences.
Aarons is not the first of Filly’s former collaborators or friends to speak out on the ongoing probe.
On Sunday his longtime pal Chunkz, real name Amin Mohamed, posted a clip to Instagram where he said: “Like everyone I’ve heard the reports coming out of Australia.
“While I understand many of you want my reaction on it, as this is an ongoing court case I hope you guys understand that I can’t and won’t be commenting on it publicly, so yeah I’ve just come on here to basically let you know the reasons as to why I can’t. Love.”
And fellow creator AngryGinge, real name Morgan Burtwistle, said: “I’m not going to pretend nothing has happened. I’m going to be open and honest as I always am. Where do you start?
“Four o’clock in the morning I’m laying in bed, I see what’s going down on Twitter. First of all I’m the exact same as you. I’m shocked. Um, yeah. You know, mental. Mental.
“But he’s now obviously involved in legal proceedings and I can’t comment on legal proceedings. You know how it is. Mad.”
And influencer LV General has also broken his silence on the shocking news.
He wrote on Instagram: “Everyone please stop messaging me about what’s happened to Young Filly.
“He’s a grown man and he has to take responsibility for his own actions.
“I’ll be praying for man because Australian prison ain’t a joke – bare snakes and spiders and s***.
“I just hope this don’t backfire on his family.”
