- ZetaChain enables seamless cross-chain dApps on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base, and Solana without requiring bridges or wrapped tokens.
- Universal Apps on ZetaChain allow users to interact with multiple blockchains without switching networks, improving security and efficiency.
The blockchain sector is rapidly developing, with improvements that make it easier for developers and users. One of them is ZetaChain, which now accepts Solana. It makes this the first Layer 1 blockchain allowing decentralized apps (dApps) to run natively on Bitcoin, Ethereum, Base, and Solana without the requirement of bridges or token wrapping.
ZetaChain now connects Solana!
Support for @solana makes ZetaChain the first public L1 to support dApps that natively span all three major chains (Solana, Bitcoin, Ethereum) in a general and simple way. Learn more: https://t.co/B4O40Xub24 pic.twitter.com/PrpAfcV49H

Universal Apps: No Bridges, No Hassle
Interoperability across blockchains has mostly depended on bridges with different difficulties, including security issues and less-than-ideal user experience. But ZetaChain offers a new answer with the idea of Universal Apps, which lets developers create apps on different blockchains directly interacting with native assets without depending on bridges.
Furthermore, users no longer have to switch networks only to access assets on several blockchains. This implies users can still access other services and assets on other blockchains while still using their wallet from the blockchain of their choosing.
Solana Integration: A Big Step for the Multi-Chain Ecosystem
Support for Solana adds to the already compatible blockchains on the long list—including Bitcoin and Ethereum—that fit ZetaChain. This integration is unusual since it allows direct contact with SOL and SPL tokens without wrapping, therefore accelerating transactions and increasing security.
On the other hand, CNF previously reported that ZetaChain has also introduced Gateway, a novel solution meant to streamline the creation and implementation of Universal Apps. By allowing more effective blockchain connectivity with a single API, this Gateway helps developers create applications running on several blockchains free from complicated technological obstacles.
Benefits for Developers and Users
The whole blockchain ecosystem gains from many kinds of integration. Now that developers can create multi-chain apps interacting directly with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and others without having to create their own bridge technologies, users also gain much since they can engage with programs or assets on other blockchains without changing networks.
From a security standpoint, the removal of bridges lowers the possibility of hacks resulting from security flaws in bridges. Furthermore, improved are factors of cost-effectiveness and speed since token wrapping or cross-chain transactions via outside bridges eliminate further expenses.
ZetaChain’s Vision: A Seamless Blockchain Ecosystem
ZetaChain looks to desire to create an ecosystem where blockchains may be directly linked to one another using the ideas of Universal Applications and Gateway technology.
Should this tendency keep growing, it is not impossible that common users would be able to access the idea of blockchain interoperability without having to grasp the technical complexity that had been the main obstacle.
Meanwhile, as of press time, ZETA was trading at about $0.2924, having corrected 4.33% over the last 24 hours and dropped 33.04% over the last 7 days.
